Explore Local History

Megalithic tombs, stone circles and standing stones can be found in the area—Drombeg being the most famous. For the historian, there are many place to visit: St. Fachtna's Cathedral, Castlefreke, Coppinger's Court and the birthplaces of Michael Collins and O' Donovan Rossa, to name a few.

I first stayed at the Celtic Cottages in the early Eighties with my grandparents and loved it. Nice to be back over 25yrs later. Its hardly changed, still quaint, still comfortable, still good value and brought back happy memories! Highly recommend staying, loads to do in West Cork, near and far to Ross.
